Say ‘Goodbye” to ingrown hairs

Admit it. You’re beyond irritated with those blasted ingrown hairs around your bikini line. Many of you are one step from to laying out some serious cash for laser hair removal treatments that could potentially put an end to your shaving misery.  Hold on.  Keep your wallet in your purse. You can solve this problem all on your own!

So what are ingrown hairs? Ingrown hairs occur when hair turns back into the follicle or grows sideways into the skin. As an ingrown hair sufferer myself, I’ve gathered some tips that might be helpful to you.

Exfoliate. I find that the easiest and best way to start a shave is in the shower because the steam of the hot water softens and preps the hair. Also, while you’re in the shower you should remove all dead skin to ensure a clean shave. Take into account your hair type. People with coarse, curly hair are more susceptible to suffer from ingrown hairs so don’t get too frustrated if things aren’t improving as quickly as you’d like them to – it’s the hand you’ve been dealt.

Clean shaving blades . Never underestimate the power of a clean shaving blade. After repeated use, blades get dull and stop delivering nick-free results. Another reason to regularly change out your blades is to avoid introducing bacteria to newly shaved skin.

Shave in one direction . Apply a liberal amount of shaving dream and then shave in the direction of the hair growth. If you shave against the grain you could irritate your skin and without trying we cause new hair bumps to form.

After you shave ,I suggest you use the popular Tend Skin that effectively treats razor bumps and ingrown hairs, and while it may sting, a little discomfort now is entirely worth it in the long run – say bye bye ingrown hairs!
